«I am retiring, but Télévie is also an operation that needs lots of people from RTL and volunteers, outside of RTL, so I will place myself among the volunteers», confides the journalist. “I want to continue to invest in my own way, one way or another. This might be the only thing that won’t end…»
A career I like… Incredible
It’s in Luxembourg, on RTL Televisionthat the Brussels resident began his career in 1984. “I’m amazed by the career I’ve had. It matches my childhood “to do list”», explique Jacques van den Biggelaar. «I dreamed of doing the Tour de France, I did it. I dreamed of traveling, I traveled. I dreamed of meeting certain people, I was able to meet them… I was very lucky but I am also a great calculator!», he smiles.
«I often made sure to kindly and courteously get what I wanted without asking too much. Even if it was too expensive, if it wasn’t the right time, or if I wasn’t the right person, by tricking myself, I got what I wanted. Be careful, no one died either!», explains the journalist.
«In our environment, I think there is a way to take the reins of your career. And you have to do it and go where you want to go. And if some people want to stop you, go around them and you’ll be fine».
And after ? “I will not close the door to television, but the basis of my development will be the pleasure that I can derive from a proposition, whatever it may be. There, I’m all about Artificial Intelligence, and maybe in two months, I’ll have covered it… I’m a ram, I go for it, and everything can interest me, whether it’s on TV or the radio», he concludes.
