JA News – Garth Brooks breaks entertainment record for Nissan Stadium in Nashville – Africa Journal

Garth Brooks broke the entertainment record for Nissan Stadium in Nashville in 75 minutes and tickets are still selling. The Garth Brooks Stadium Tour heads to its Tennessee home on Saturday, July 31 for its first-ever show at Nissan Stadium.

These will be full capacity circular seats with nearly 70,000 participants. There will be a limit of eight tickets per purchase. There are only three ways to purchase tickets: at ticketmaster.com/garthbrooks, the Garth Brooks line at Ticketmaster at 1-877-654-2784 or through the Ticketmaster app on your mobile phone. Please note that there will be no ticket sales at the site box office.

Nashville is the fifth new show announced since the pandemic. Earlier this month, Brooks broke the entertainment record for GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, in just one hour with over 74,500 tickets sold. The event is sold out.

Last month, Brooks broke the Ticketmaster record for the best-selling stadium in US history after selling more than 50,000 tickets to his show in Salt Lake City in less than 30 minutes. Another four thousand tickets were sold after the end of the construction of the Rice-Eccles stadium. A few weeks ago, Brooks sold over 70,000 tickets in 47 minutes for his August 14 performance at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, NE. The concert sold all 83,000 tickets in an hour and a half.

Brooks is set to resume the Garth Brooks Stadium tour on July 10 with a sold-out show in Las Vegas, marking the first live event at Allegiant Stadium, and the first return show since being sidelined by COVID. Many new tickets opened for Garth in Vegas last week, and many are still available at press time. It was one of three announced concerts that had to be postponed from 2020.

Brooks’ other two announced 2020 stadium dates have been postponed multiple times due to social distancing restrictions. The Cincinnati date – originally scheduled for Paul Brown Stadium on May 16, but rescheduled for June 27, then May 1 – will now be September 18 with Charlotte – originally scheduled for Bank of America Stadium on May 2, then rescheduled for June 13, then pushed back again to October 10, then April 10 – will now take place on September 25. All tickets for each original date will be honored for the respective news.

Brooks will also headline the opening night of Cheyenne Frontier Days with special guest Ned LeDoux on Friday July 23 with a sold-out show. Tickets went on sale April 15 and sold out within an hour. Many fans were queued up but were unable to secure tickets.

The Garth Brooks Stadium Tour was scheduled to reach 10 to 12 cities per year for an initial three-year period, with most venues being university stadiums. Brooks has confirmed that stadium tour dates are scheduled until summer 2022, with several unannounced dates postponed due to the pandemic. Due to the time lost due to the pandemic, Brooks doubles the number of concerts and performs regularly during the last semester.

Since the launch of the Garth Brooks Stadium Tour in March 2019, Brooks has broken stadium attendance records in St. Louis, MO at Dome at America’s Center, Glendale, AZ at State Farm Stadium, Gainesville, FL at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, two sold-out nights at Minneapolis, MN’s US Bank Stadium, Denver, CO at Mile High Stadium, Eugene, OR at Autzen Stadium and two sold-out nights at Boise, ID’s Albertsons Stadium shows, both sold out within an hour . Brooks also broke records at the Mosaic Stadium show in Regina, Saskatchewan on August 10, which sold out in less than an hour, averaging just over 75,000 tickets in each city. Brooks added a second date in Regina, SK on August 9 due to demand. It hosted a record number in Boise, ID with 86,000 spectators for two consecutive shows, with special guest Blake Shelton accompanying on the first night to perform their new single “Dive Bar” which was recorded and filmed.

In November 2019, Brooks set the record for selling concert tickets at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN. Brooks literally broke the internet when the first set of tickets went on sale in September, freezing Ticketmaster’s systems. Moving at over a thousand tickets per minute, the Garth Brooks Stadium Tour ticket on sale for Knoxville, TN came to a halt when the system was unable to open tickets quickly enough to meet demand. Over 80,000 tickets were sold after the production seats were vacated and sold out within minutes.

The Garth Brooks Stadium Tour has averaged just over 83,000 tickets in each city and over one million tickets sold to date. Brooks has broken attendance records in more than 75 cities.

Brooks will bid farewell to legendary Studio 6A, longtime home to iconic musical series Austin City Limits, with a pair of intimate performances on July 20 and 21. This event, originally scheduled for May 24, 2020 and delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will now feature two evenings with the country superstar. Brooks returns to the original Austin City Limits stage where it all began for a memorable start at historic Studio 6A on the University of Texas campus. Austin PBS’s Farewell to Studio 6A: An Evening with Garth Brooks will be a one-off event celebrating the iconic institution and also a fundraiser for public broadcaster Austin PBS, which produces the series.
