It’s Bécquer!, the most reserved side of the Sevillian poet, on Andalusia Television

The Sevillian poet Gustavo Adolfo Becquer will be the protagonist tonight Saturday, December 9 (10:55 p.m.) in Andalusia Television (ATV). The documentary, “It’s Becquer!” It is a film in which he collaborates Channel On and which coincides with the 150th anniversary of the publication of the artist’s Rhymes.

Produced by Promico Imagen, the documentary addresses different aspects of the poet’s life, such as Bécquer’s desire to be buried on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, and reveals unknown data about his private life, such as his relationship with women or his political thinking. Furthermore, the film vindicates the figure of his brother Valeriano, so important to the poet, and recalls how Seville wanted to forget Gustavo Adolfo after his death because it considered that his religiosity was lukewarm. Which is why it took 40 years for his remains to return.
