ITN: Negotiations continue, no agreements will be signed – 2024-04-23 04:57:50

/ world today news/ “There is such a people” will not sign agreements with the parliamentary groups from which they expect support for their proposed cabinet, but they are ready to continue negotiations to specify priorities.

This was announced on the sidelines of the National Assembly by MP Stanislav Balabanov and Prime Minister nominee Plamen Nikolov.

Deputy Stanislav Balabanov was adamant that the political declaration on the priorities of the future cabinet of “There is such a people” read yesterday from the parliamentary rostrum is a sufficiently legitimate document and there is no need for other written agreements with the formations from which they expect support:

“I think the statement that was read was clear. These are the priorities of all these parties. All these parties are willing to follow these priorities from here on. So I think that’s more than enough at this point.

Hard word, morals and dignity are much more important than a signature”.

He specified that they tend to negotiate on priorities:

“We, as we have said until now, have not closed the door to anyone. So these meetings are normal to take place in principle if they want to”.

According to Prime Minister nominee Plamen Nikolov, talks are ongoing and the completed mandate will be returned to the president when “absolute agreement” is reached.

“Tomorrow is the last constitutional deadline. Talks are ongoing, going on right now.”

Balabanov called for calm:

“We are waiting for everyone to get rid of their emotions and act practically. This is the most important. We really hope there is a cabinet, because it is extremely important. It depends on them.”

The option of new elections is not excluded if they do not receive support for the draft cabinet.

“If we do not find support from these political parties, we are probably heading for new elections,” commented Balabanov.
