They planned to stay in a luxury hotel in the area of ​​the Villasimius resort. Upon arrival, the participants of this trip were immediately arrested during an inspection in connection with the decision of the European Union, which did not open its external borders to newcomers from the USA.

Christian Solinas protested on Thursday against a “restrictive interpretation” of the rules, which he considered “contrary to common sense.” He assured the authorities that the intention was to ensure sanitary safety in this case. “This case has seriously damaged the international tourist credibility of our island and our hospitality,” said the governor.
