Italian woman wins a Picasso with a draw | Abroad

A ticket to participate in the promotion cost 100 euros, but the lucky winner had received her ticket from someone. She is now the proud owner of Picasso’s Nature Morte (still life), which the Spanish master painted in 1921. The canvas depicts a table, newspaper and a glass of absinthe.

The draw raised a total of 5.1 million euros. 9 tons of this goes to billionaire and art dealer David Nahmad from Monaco, who offered the painting for the draw. “Picasso would have loved an action like this, because he was someone with a keen interest in humanitarian and social affairs,” said Peri Cochin, who organized the draw.
