Italian Stock Exchange and European Markets See Half Percentage Point Increase, Telecom Italia TIM and Banking Sector Perform Well

The major Italian Stock Exchange indices and the main European financial markets recorded increases of more than half a percentage point.

At 2.30 pm FTSEMib it gained 0.69% to 31,348 points, after having fluctuated between a minimum of 31,094 points and a maximum of 31,376 points. At the same time the FTSE Italia All Share it was up 0.67%. Plus sign also for the FTSE Italia Mid Cap (+0.47%) and for the FTSE Italia Star (+0,95%).

Banking sector stocks remain in the spotlight.

BPER Bank gains 0.25% to 3.579 euros. The institute has concluded the placement of the first Senior Preferred bond qualified as “green”, for an amount of 500 million euros and a maturity of 6 years. The bond received orders exceeding 3.4 billion euros. The annual coupon was set at 4.25%, with an issue/re-offer price of 99.753%; the yield is equal to the 5-year mid swap rate, increased by 160 basis points.

Better performance for UniCredit (+1.77% to 29.91 euros). Jefferies analysts have raised the target price on the institute led by Andrea Orcel from 39.9 euros to 41.6 euros; the experts confirmed the indication to buy the shares.

Good too Monte dei Paschi di Siena (+3,18%).

Telecom Italia TIM gains 0.96% to 0.2724 euros. The telephone company’s board of directors will meet today to examine the preliminary financial results for the 2023 financial year. The consensus indicates revenues of 16.27 billion euros for the financial year just ended, an increase of 3% compared to the 15 .8 billion (comparable base) obtained in the previous year. The organic gross operating margin is expected at 6.36 billion euros, an estimate which compares with the 6.04 billion (comparable base) of 2022 (+5.3%).

Interpump suspended for excessive increases after the release of the preliminary results for the 2023 financial year. On the basis of the available indicators, the company’s top management estimates a turnover for the entire financial year, on an organic basis, to be substantially stable, while in terms of profitability the group aims to protect the result achieved in 2023.

The positive performances of. also stand out at FTSEMib Leonardo (+4.23%) e di CONNECTED (+4,67%).
