According to the forecast of the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG) in Vienna, the weather in the summer is likely to be more volatile in the coming week. The start of the week and the end of the week are rainy, even in connection with a cold front. In between, the sun shows up more, but above all it remains pleasantly mild.
Monday
A cold front moves across Austria on Monday, making the weather very unstable and sometimes turbulent. Rain, rain showers and especially thunderstorms in the eastern half of the country and in the south are common, which can also be violent, especially in the initially sunny Graz basin and in southern Burgenland. It refreshes moderate to lively west wind. Early temperatures 14 to 22 degrees Celsius, daily maximum temperatures 19 to 26 degrees, only in the extreme southeast again up to 31 degrees.
Tuesday
A western high current determines the weather on Tuesday. Especially in the mountains, the day starts with residual clouds, otherwise mostly sunny. In the western parts of the country it remains mostly sunny during the day, otherwise some cloud fields move through at times. It remains largely dry. The wind is weak to moderate, initially strong in the Danube Valley from south to west. Early temperatures twelve to 18 degrees, maximum daily temperatures 23 to 28 degrees.
Wednesday
There is a lot of sunshine in the middle of the week under intermediate high influence. In the afternoon, however, cumulus clouds, rain showers and thunderstorms form over the Alpine peaks. In the flatlands of the east and southeast, as well as in the north, however, it remains largely dry until evening. The predominant wind direction is southeast to south. The wind blows weak to moderate from it. Early temperatures: twelve to 19 degrees, maximum values: 23 to 31 degrees.
Thursday
In the run-up to a rising cold front, warm, humid air masses are stored in the Eastern Alps on Thursday. In these, starting from the mountain country, after a often still sunny start to the day, cumulus clouds as well as rain showers and thunderstorms, which spread to almost all parts of the country during the course of the day. Even in the night on Friday, it still rains frequently, especially over the Alps. The wind blows weakly away from the thunderstorm. Temperatures in the morning: 16 to 20 degrees, in the afternoon 21 to 30 degrees.
Friday
On Fridays in the south-west of Austria there is a mix of a little sunshine and lots of thick clouds all day long, which also brings repeated rain showers and sometimes thunderstorms in the afternoons. Everywhere else there is still some sunshine when the weather is dry. However, the tendency to showers generally rises from the mountains and hills until evening. The wind from west to northwest blows weak to moderate. 13 to 20 degrees in the morning, 19 to 26 degrees in the afternoon.
