“It can stand out”: Julie Vermeire presents the line of jewelry | bv

Julie’s jewelry will be on sale in Kruidvat. Not exactly the more exclusive segment other BVs often choose for, but Julie deliberately didn’t want that. “I was a little hesitant,” she says. “But Kruidvat showed me all sorts of things and there was very open communication. I have many young followers on TikTok between six and eighteen years old, for them it’s nice that the jewelry is low budget. I’ve also asked my friends for recommendations and they’re very enthusiastic.”

Julie obviously isn’t a jewelry designer, but she helped pick out the rings, earrings, and necklaces. Taking a jewelry course doesn’t seem to be an option for her at the moment. “It sounds nice to be able to design your own rings, but I don’t know if I’m creative enough,” she says. “But I helped choose the items and had a say on the colors. I find it very festive, it can stand out. I myself love rings and without earrings I just feel naked. I already have two holes in each ear.

James Cooke received an engagement ring from Dorian that he had designed himself. Maybe Julie hopes her boyfriend Laurins will do the same for her one day? “Damn, like me, she’s inexperienced at this,” she says. “There are enough rings for sale, right? But if someone can help him with this, why not? Makes a ring more personal. But an engagement isn’t in the cards yet, you know. We’ll see when it arrives. We are already very happy that the coexistence is going so well. I’ve been doing laundry and pissing since I was fifteen, so I was used to it. Laurins has taken over the kitchen, because he is simply good ”.

Julie lives with Laurins in Kortrijk, at some distance from her father Jacques Vermeire. “But I go at least twice a week,” she says. “Even to see my friends. I like staying at home. Dad is still recovering from his broken shoulder. He won’t be 100% right, I’m afraid. But it works. She now travels every month with Urbanus for a TV show and is working on a new show. The theater show with my brother Maxime and I, which unfortunately we had to postpone, will probably be for the autumn of 2023”.

You don’t have to wait until then to see Julie at work, though. At the end of December she will be back on TV, in “A Real Job” on VTM. “My exclusive contract with SBS has expired, so I’m free to come and go as I please,” says Julie. “I’m glad they asked, because healthcare has always fascinated me. I’m a fan of “Grey’s Anatomy”. (laughs) My grandmother was a nurse and I also like to help people. As a good talker, I hope I can transfer my positive energy to patients on dark days. A good challenge. Maybe I’ll end up in geriatrics so I can prepare to help dad or my grandparents later.”

Julie realizes all too well that this reality series will be something very different from the glitz and glamor of “Dancing with the Stars.” “In ‘A Real Job’ I can be completely myself, I can’t wait,” she says. “I’m 24 now, since I started in media three years ago, I’ve grown a lot. Before I was quite gullible, now I have much more human knowledge and I’m more realistic. In the media world there are many sharks and false promises, there are many dangers. Luckily I am well surrounded by four men: my father, my manager Thomas, my friend Laurins and my dog ​​Sunny. So I feel well protected. Although I can also stand my ground. (laughs)
