The British Parliament will return from summer recess in early September

The official nomination of candidates for the post of Prime Minister of Great Britain will take place on July 12.

The name of the new leader of the ruling Conservative Party in the UK and the country’s prime minister will be announced on September 5. This was stated by the head of the parliamentary committee Graham Brady, reports TASS on Monday, July 11th.

“The result should be announced on September 5, this will happen when Parliament returns from the summer holidays. I would hope that we will do everything pretty quickly. The first two rounds of voting will take place this week,” he said.

The official nomination of candidates will take place on July 12, and the very next day the first round of voting on candidates for leadership in the party is scheduled. The second round will possibly take place as early as July 14th.

The screening of candidates must be completed by July 21, when the parliament goes on summer vacation. After that, only two applicants should remain on the lists, whose fate will no longer be determined by the deputies of the House of Commons, but by ordinary members of the Conservative Party.

Eleven conservative politicians have already expressed their desire to take part in the election of the leader of the Tories, who will automatically become prime minister, since the party is ruling.

Remember July 7th Boris Johnson announced his decision to leave from the posts of Prime Minister of Great Britain and leader of the Conservative Party. He noted that he would fulfill his obligations until the appointment of a new head of government.

As is known, serious crisis in the British governmentassociated with the credibility of Johnson, developed over several months and reached its climax this week.
