Our capital Sofia is in the 95th position in the ranking of “Resonance Consultancy”, a tourism consulting company. Istanbul is the only city from the Balkans to make the top ten. The Turkish metropolis is in 9th place in the ranking.
The first place is placed London, the second is reserved for Paris, and the third position is held by Berlin. The capitals of Italy and Spain are placed fourth and fifth on the list. Followed by Prague, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Istanbul and Milan.
Other Balkan cities that make the ranking are Athens (50th), Bucharest (74th) and Ankara (75th). Montpellier, Malaga and Bremen are ranked after our capital.
In its summary of Sofia, Resonance says: “Often overlooked and rarely lauded, Bulgaria’s capital is poised to establish itself as an accessible, talent-rich metropolis eager to sit at the European table with a confidence born of millennials was once a crossroads of trade. The city’s seven-thousand-year history and its sights “spanning all eras” are also mentioned. It is also the most affordable European capital in the ranking, the company also points out.
“Resonance” analyzed more than 180 European cities to compile a list of the leading hundred of them, arranged on the basis of criteria such as well-being, attractiveness and quality of life. To do this, the company uses a combination of basic statistics and qualitative ratings and recommendations from local residents and visitors on digital channels such as Tripadvisor, Google, Facebook and Instagram.
In the world ranking of “Resonance” for 2024, London is again in the leading position, followed by Paris and New York. Tokyo and Singapore complete the five.
