The Hamas attack killed 1,400 people, mostly civilians, while Israel’s counterattack has so far killed 9,488 victims in Gaza, the majority of whom are women and children.

During the interview, Eliyahu was asked if he advocated dropping some kind of atomic bomb on the Gaza Strip to kill everyone.

Eliyahu replied, “That is one of the options.”

PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s office immediately responded to Eliyahu’s statement.

According to the Israeli PM’s office, the comments are out of touch with reality and Israel is trying to save non-combatants in Gaza.

After his comments were protested, Eliyahu wrote on social media X (formerly Twitter) that his statement about the atomic bomb was metaphorical.

Israel has never admitted to having a nuclear bomb.
