Israel and Gaza Armistice, Their Supporters Clash in New York

NEW YORK CITY – Military Israel and resistance groups Palestine in Gaza agreed to a ceasefire starting Friday (21/5/2021) at 02.00 am local time. However, demonstrators supporting Israel and Palestine actually clashed in New York City, United States (US).

Video footage was widely shared on social media showing a “firebomb” exploding in New York’s Diamond District.

Former New York State Assemblyman and Jewish leader, Dov Hikind, was quoted as saying Russia Today, claiming that “firebombs” were thrown by pro-Palestinian protesters at a group of pro-Israel protesters.

Another video circulating showed people screaming and fleeing in chaos after the explosion. There is also a video showing debris strewn on the ground and smoke rising from the scene.

Local police are seen making arrests at the scene of the incident, although it is not clear whether the suspect who threw the “firebomb” has been detained or not.

Another video footage shows the two camps shouting at each other and clashes breaking out amid the presence of a large police force in the area.
