President Joe Biden praises Ford and GM’s electric car production, but Tesla is left out. That makes Elon Musk react.

– For unknown reasons, the president is not able to say the word Tesla, writes Elon Musk Twitter Sunday night.
This is one of several critical messages the Tesla chief has written about President Joe Biden in the last week.
It all started last autumn, when the president presented his infrastructure package “build back better”.
Part of this package is devoted to renewable transport, and one of the goals is that half of the sales of new cars in the US will be electric cars by 2030.
The goal was presented at a presentation in the White House last year. Three major car manufacturers were present: GM, Ford Motor and Chrysler owner Stellantis, according to CNBC. The three car manufacturers are also mentioned in the White House ‘ own statement about the package.
But Tesla was not mentioned.

This week, Biden posted a video on Twitter, where he appears with the chairman of the board of GM. The theme was the future of electric car production in the United States – and GM’s operations in Michigan.
– I meant it when I said that the future will be created here in the US. Companies such as GM and Ford are building more electric vehicles here at home than ever before, Biden writes in the report.
Musk responded by spelling the name of his company:
– Starts with a T, ends with an A, ESL in the middle, writes the Tesla boss.
The Tesla boss followed up with the following message:
– Biden is a damp sock puppet in human form.
Not unionized
When the White House was asked last fall why Tesla was not included, press secretary Jen Psaki replied that GM, Ford and Stellantis are “the three largest employers in United Auto Workers”, according to New York Post.
According to Reuters she also added:
– I will let you draw your own conclusions.
Several have interpreted this as an indication that Tesla was not allowed to join because the employees are not part of the union.
Elon Musk spoke about the case during a panel discussion at a conference in Beverly Hills in September:
– They did not mention Tesla once and praised GM and Ford for leading the electric car revolution. Does that sound a bit biased? said Musk, according to Reuters.
– Not the friendliest administration, seems to be controlled by unions, he added.
