Iron on the scandalous love show: I got drunk when I realized where I was

Last week, the dating show “Randiņš ar Dzelzīte” organized by TV3 ended, in which the Daile Theater actor was announced as a coveted old man looking for a bride. An interview with the show’s protagonist was published in the magazine “Ieva” this week. During the conversation, the actor suggests that he initially regretted participating in the show, but the contract has already been signed.

Last year, Lauris Dzelzitis was announced as one of the five participants in TV3’s upcoming show “Old Man Looking for a Bride”, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the project was not implemented. After that, a new show was made, the only old man of which was Dzelzitis; TV3 announced an application for ladies who wanted to meet the actor. The show was filmed in a house in Ragaciems throughout July and already in August the material reached the audience on the Go3 platform.

In an interview with “Ieva”, Dzelzitis reveals that even before the show was filmed, she was abandoned by a woman with whom he wanted to finally establish a serious relationship. While still filming, the actor hoped that everything could still be fine.

Viewers had noticed that in the show Dzelzitis was introverted and withheld, while the show itself was sexist and chauvinistic. And Dzelzitis has become the face of it all. “Yes, I could portray something. But I didn’t want anything. The psycho-emotional state I went there gave it a tone for everything. When I realized it was all happening, I had a feeling – nafig me it? But I already had a contract, “explains the artist.

“On the first day of the show, when I realized where I was, I got drunk,” the publication said.

He had expected “Dating with the Iron” to be an easy and sparkling “fun” event, and says he may have already disagreed, so he invites others to learn from his mistakes. At the same time, Dzelzitis notes once again that he is indifferent to public opinion (and at the same time interested in the opinion of only one person), and he still finds it funny, as viewers may believe that a public person can seriously look for a bride in a TV show. “If a person doesn’t understand that, what else should I talk to him about?” in a conversation with “Ieva” asks Dzelzitis.

We remind you that 12 women of different ages and professions started in the show “Dating with Iron”, who went home one by one in the weekly voting. Although the concept is that in the final of the show, the bachelor should choose a winner, Dzelzitis also “escaped” from the last two remaining participants.
