She struggled with her addiction to sleeping pills and antidepressants, and when information about her relationship with Václav Havel came to light, she collapsed mentally. In the most difficult moments, however, it was the pills that may have saved her life. Today he fights differently against a bad mood.

In connection with the writer Irena Obermann, for many years there was talk mainly of Václav Havel, with whom Berenika Kohoutová’s mother had a short affair. She had problems with her mental health since childhood, and when journalists began to deal with her and Havel, a real hell ensued. “Years later, I collapsed mentally from what was written about me in connection with Václav Havel,” the writer confided on her Instagram years ago.

Torn in all directions

When news of the relationship between Obermann and Havel came to light, many described the writer as the subversive of a family that wanted to distract Dagmar Havel’s husband. “You know what, let’s talk about morality for a moment. Who is more immoral – a woman without obligations who falls in love or a married man who seduces her? I didn’t start the relationship, I never asked Havel for a meeting, I never contacted him myself for a year. But I fell in love as a little girl, yes, ”the writer once said lightning.

“And when we talk about morality, I definitely don’t think I would hurt Dagmar Havel. She was saved by drugs

Irena Obermannová had problems falling asleep from childhood, which she later began to solve with various medications. “I could not afford not to sleep. I started eating rohypnol, the crap they banned. I swallowed it every night, after his ban I managed to switch smoothly to the addictive Stilnox. With that, I remained in happy symbiosis for many years, ”she confided on the social network.

And salvation came just after the affair with Havel, when Obermann collapsed. The psychiatrist started to deal with my Stilnox as well. She prescribed me a third-generation antidepressant, Trittico, which also helps with falling asleep, my diagnosis was basically resilient, hypersensitive and therefore insane, and I happily took Trittico. After years, only a minimalist dose. And now, with the help of Chinese medicine, yoga and, most importantly, a wiser approach to life, I sleep clean. And I sleep like a log again after years, “she added.
