Iran’s supreme leader supports Putin’s war in Ukraine

Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei believes that Russia is at war with NATO on Ukrainian territory.

On Tuesday, July 19, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called NATO a “dangerous organization” that allegedly planned aggression against the Russian Federation.

About it informs Iranian state news agency IRNA.

“War is in fact a cruel thing and the Islamic Republic of Iran is not happy about the death of innocent people. However, in your case, if you had not come up with an initiative, the other side would have started a war with its own initiative,” Khamenei said, repeating the theses of Kremlin propaganda.

The Supreme Leader of Iran believes that Western countries are against a strong Russia, and called NATO “a dangerous organization.”

“If the road to NATO is open, this organization will not see any obstacles in front of it, and if you did not oppose it in Ukraine, then it itself would start a war under the pretext of Crimea,” the ayatollah said.

Khamenei called Vladimir Putin a “serious man”, urged him to strengthen his position in Syria, from where, according to him, the United States should be expelled, and called cooperation between Iran and Russia necessary in the context of Western sanctions.

Recall that after US President Joe Biden completed a four-day trip to Israel and Saudi Arabia, Iran announced its technical readiness to build a nuclear bomb.
