VIVA – Government Iran claims the locally made COVID-19 vaccine is 90 percent effective against corona virus. After carrying out immunogenicity tests on 35 volunteers, the results showed a better response than expected.
“Preliminary results show that about 90 percent of people who receive two doses of the vaccine show bouts of immunity. But more testing is needed to get more accurate results,” said COVIran Barekat clinical trial leader Mohamad Reza Salehi.
Officials previously said Barekat was 100 per cent effective against the new variant of COVID-19 first discovered in the UK.
