IPhone XR has become Apple’s most famous global smartphone in 2019, according to new data from market research firm OmdiaAnd, iPhone XR shipments were reported to be 9 million units higher than the iPhone 11 model.
According to the Omdia Market Research report, Apple shipped 46.3 million units of the iPhone XR during 2019, and this number represents more than twice the number of phone shipments of 23.1 million units in 2018, while iPhone 11 shipments amounted to 37.3 million units during the year.
And Apple ranked first and second, while Samsung ranked third, fourth and fifth through Galaxy A10, Galaxy A150 and Galaxy A20 with shipments of 30.3 million, 24.2 million and 19.2 million units, respectively.
The iPhone 11 Pro Max ranked sixth as the most popular smart phone with 17.6 million units charged, followed by iPhone 8 with 17.4 million units shipped, while the iPhone 11 Pro came in ninth place with a number of shipments of 15.5 million units.
Market research firm Omdia generally estimates that iPhone shipments from Apple fell 4.6 percent in 2019 compared to the previous year, and despite this year-on-year decline, which Omdia attributes to price increases, Apple continues to rank first in terms of shipments .

Jusy Hong, director of research and analysis of the smart phone sector at Omdia, said: “Apple continues to hold the first and second positions in the global smart phone shipments classification, while maintaining this dominant position for more than five years in a row.”
Hong added that Apple’s continued dominance is impressive, given that its high prices caused total shipments to drop last year, but by limiting the number of models it offers compared to its best competitors, it managed to focus its sales on a few smartphones. Enjoy wide appeal like iPhone XR.
