Apple should plan two variants of a budget iPhone. In addition to a model with a 4.7-inch screen, a plus version with a larger display is to be launched, just like the iPhone 8.
There are countless details about the upcoming new budget iPhone, which is sold under the name iPhone 9 secured. So it is pretty safe to assume that the device is equipped with a 4.7-inch LC display and has a home button with touch ID. Now, however, it seems that the iPhone 9 will appear in two variants and thus replace the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus – the currently cheapest Apple phones.
Like “9to5Mac” citing lines of code in iOS 14 pre-release versions writes, the upcoming entry-level iPhone will also appear in a plus version with a larger display. It is conceivable that this display measures 5.5 inches like the iPhone 8 Plus. It also says that both new phones will run with Apple’s latest A13 Bionic chip, which is also used in the current iPhone 11 and 11 Pro. This should increase the incentive for users of the iPhone 6 and 7 to switch to the new model. The iPhone 9 Plus should also come with a home button with touch ID instead of face recognition, and in contrast to the iPhone 8 also support NFC. “9to5Mac” writes nothing about the price point of the plus version, with the smaller phone one expects a price of $ 399.
Actually, the new phones should have been launched at the end of March – given the current corona crisis, it is currently assumed that the phones will be launched in the second quarter.
