According to the South Korean The Elec Apple will provide its new iPhones with new so-called LTPO screens from 2021. This imaging technology would be implemented in two of the next four iPhones planned. It means that presumably only the Pro models will make the leap to the better screens.
Battery life
An LTPO display can dynamically adjust the refresh rate of a display, so that the transition to 120 hertz is made only when needed.
This is to make use of the high speed more energy efficient. Many devices that offer 120 hertz run out of battery charges faster.
Criticism of iPhone 12’s
The lack of a higher refresh rate is one of the most frequently heard criticisms about the iPhone 12‘s. The new iPhones still have 60 Hz screens.
Normally, the new iPhones appear in September. The first two iPhone 12 models didn’t appear until October, followed by the iPhone 12 Mini and Pro Max.
Whether Apple will name the next iPhones iPhone 13 is still uncertain. The unlucky number may be skipped.

Samsung
Many Android phone makers have been offering smartphones with screens with a higher frame rate for some time. Samsung uses the same type of LTPO screen for it too Galaxy Note 20 Ultra which appeared earlier this year.
