iPhone 12: the absence of headphones and charger in the cases is confirmed

Accessories should be sold separately.

The packaging of the iPhone 12 should be much thinner than for the previous models to believe several rumors. It is indeed question that Apple removes the wired headphones from the cases of its iPhone, but also the AC adapter. A forecast by analysts at the British bank Barclays last week which has since been confirmed by specialist analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, reports 9to5mac.

The analyst indicates that by doing so, Apple could sell its iPhone at a lower price and above all compensate for the costs of integrating 5G components in compatible smartphones. The absence of Earpods and a charger should also reduce the size of the packaging and therefore reduce the costs of transport costs for Apple. Savings here and there which should therefore allow Apple to avoid increasing the price of its smartphones despite the performance revised upwards.

As for its previous prediction concerning a 20W charger, Ming-Chi Kuo reaffirms that Apple could offer such an accessory, but it will be sold separately. It could also replace the 5W and 18W chargers.

It remains to be seen whether Apple will effectively limit the price increase of its phones. The Californian firm should certainly attract the wrath of consumers if this is not the case. There is a good chance that his choice to remove wired headphones and chargers from iPhone cases – if the rumor was right – will be criticized by customers. The firm has already been criticized in the past for its tendency to push its customers to buy additional accessories.
