According to what the reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in one research noteApple plans to launch a new iPad 10.8 in the second half of 2020, followed by a new 8.5-inch iPad Mini in the first half of 2021.
Kuo did not specify whether the model of 10.8-inch iPad will be a new version of the existing “cheap” 10.2-inch iPad or 10.5-inch iPad Air, while the 8.5-inch model will be the successor of the current iPad mini. Apple he updated the last time the iPad mini in March 2019 with an A12 Bionic chip, an updated front camera and support for the first generation Apple Pencil.
At the moment there is no other information regarding the possible technical specifications of the two models in question, but it is likely that there will be “minor” updates that will focus on some hardware changes, such as the SoC and the amount of RAM on board.
Kuo also adds that Apple should include a new 20 W power adapter in the package of both new iPad models, which unfortunately, according to the latest rumors, will not be present in the packaging of the next iPhone 12.
