Investor as per textbooks, at 16.00 “Future capital” conversation with Kristaps Skuteli

Tech expert Kristaps Skutelis says that although she had previously worked with various small experiments, such as cryptocurrencies, for business purposes, she began to seriously focus on investing last year. Skutel’s approach is balanced, thoughtful, and actually sounds like something from financial literacy textbooks. In this regard and more on Tuesday at 16.00 in the “Nákotnes kapitals” program.

“A more serious thing happened during the pandemic,” says Skutelis, laughing that at the time he sold his “Pajero” and had “extra money” because he was saving a lot on normal car repairs. He started looking at stocks and slowly built his portfolio. Skutelis admits that there were a lot of uncertainties in the beginning, both about which actions to choose and how it happens technically.

“Because I follow technology on a daily basis, I have a better idea of what the future holds,” he says, listing Apple, Microsfot, Nvidia and AMD in his portfolio. Among the first purchases there were also energy companies, but as Skutelis himself admits, he doesn’t understand much about this sector and at some point, when prices fell, he sold the shares.

Skutelis also quickly realized that speculation is not his field. Therefore, they stick to the so-called “value investing” strategy, because they plan their portfolio for a long time.
