Investigation into plagiarism by director of Amsterdam UMC | Inland

According to de Volkskrant, Kramer copied texts from, among others, Volkskrant columnist Peter de Waard for his columns on the hospital’s intranet. He would have done so without citing sources.

According to the spokesperson, the supervisory board has asked an independent committee to investigate the matter.

The research into the use of sources would involve at least six columns written in the past six months. In addition to those of De Waard, passages have also been copied from the late stage director Gerrit Korthals Altes, NRC journalist Wouter van Noort, a letter sent to NRC by historian Eymert-Jan Goossens and writer Aernout Borms, writes de Volkskrant.

According to the newspaper, Kramer has already expressed regret about the matter. He would have done that in a column in the summer.

The hospital spokesperson does not know when the investigation into Kramer will be finished. “But I don’t think that will take months.”
