To do this, they will hire new professionals that nourish the team of the new medium, as well as the radio Ona Mediterrànea and the digital newspaper dbalears with which it will receive feedback in parallel. Additionally, VIDA will work with external production companies to create new spaces.

«The second line of action», continues Martí, «is the recovery of audiovisual content that exists but is not available Big audience such as the OCB’s audiovisual historical archive, made up of a large number of conferences, interviews, reports… In addition, we would like to do the same with the GOB and with specific people who have archives that we consider interesting, such as Cecil Buele or the TVE director Vicenç Matas. We are also looking to be able to count on the Mallorca Television archive which is property of the Consell and in which there is a lot of content that would be interesting to recover.

The new channel also seeks to fill a market void in the entertainment field. «We would love to create children’s programming in Catalan, although it is difficult. It is incomprehensible that nobody does it in Mallorca. Many parents have asked us because there is almost nothing in this sense,” explains the director of the medium.

VIDA will start open next month sporadically and hopes to offer regular content in September. It also works to broadcast through apps Apple and Android phones, as well as smart television. The new medium will have paid content and in April it will launch a fundraising campaign.
