Introduced a supercar with a very unusual engine

The Roland Gumpert brand introduced a supercar called Nathalie. The main role in the creation of this car was played by the former head of the Audi sports division Roland Gumpert, who managed to create a truly unusual car. So, the Natalie motor runs on alcohol!

Naturally, in order to turn a bold idea into a production car, Humper needed the help of an investor. This role was tried on by a Chinese startup Aiways.

Nathalie is not driven by some banal ICE, but by a whole power plant.

It consists of a 15-kilowatt block of methanol fuel cells with a 65-liter cylinder and a traction battery. The scheme is as follows: methyl alcohol is heated to 400 degrees Celsius, this leads to the release of hydrogen, from which the generator under the hood receives electricity to power the batteries.

There are also electric motors, there are four of them and they give out 544 hp. To “hundreds” from a place the car accelerates in 2.5 seconds, the maximum speed is 300 kilometers per hour. The drive is full.

The creators of the car position their brainchild as a car that is fast in the city and on the track is capable of much. In order to prove this, Natalie was taken to the famous Nurburgring track.

The cruising range is impressive – 820 kilometers, and filling up to full takes only three minutes.

The car will be released in a limited edition of 500 copies. The cost of one supercar is 407,000 euros (about 30 million rubles). The first buyers of “alcohol” cars will receive cars at the beginning of next year.
