KPN increases the price of its internet subscriptions for private and small business customers, the provider announced on Wednesday. The increase differs per subscription, but amounts to an average of about 1.50 euros, according to a spokesperson. The internet prices of KPN subsidiary XS4ALL increase per subscription by exactly 1 euro.
The increase has to do with the inflation correction for both brands. The price increase at KPN is also necessary to continue investing, according to a provider spokesperson.
KPN does not disclose the exact amount by which the price of various internet subscriptions will increase. According to the spokesperson, the new amount amounts to an increase of 2.6 percent.
In addition, at KPN the price of a Digitenne subscription increases by 1 euro. The starting rate for fixed telephony will also increase by 0.01 euros. In addition, calling itself becomes more expensive at 0.01 euros per minute.
Internet at XS4ALL will be 1 euro more expensive
At XS4ALL, all internet prices rise by exactly 1 euro. For example, a basic subscription will cost 42 euros from 1 July. The prices for more expensive subscriptions go up to 69.50 euros per month. The increase amounts to around 2 percent per subscription, relatively much lower than the increase that XS4ALL implemented in June.
Although XS4ALL has been integrated with KPN since March, the company maintains the brand name. When KPN announced its intention to quit in 2019, it led to disappointment among loyal XS4ALL customers. An action group that wanted XS4ALL to remain independent even founded a new internet provider.
