Intercity buses accept cash payment for the ticket with the exact money | BE Gijón | Today for Today Gijón

The buses of interurban public transport they accept the cash payment of the ticket, but with the delivery of the exact amount, starting this Friday, May 15, in order to minimize contact with drivers. This measure is made more flexible to allow the service to users who need now, in a timely manner, travel between different councils of Asturias and, therefore, they do not use the Single Ticket card in any of its modalities.

The Government of the Principality applies this measure on the same day that the municipalities of Oviedo, Gijón and Mieres begin Also to charge again the services of public transport urban. In addition, it matches the start of the collection of the blue zone in Gijón and Oviedo.

The users have the single ticket cards with expired trips they can recover them for free recharging at any kiosk that sells and recharges cards of the Asturias Transport Consortium (CTA), as announced at the beginning of the health crisis.

  • Cangas de Onís – Oviedo.
  • Soto Llanera – La Fresneda – Oviedo.
  • Ribadesella – Gijón.

Likewise, the consortium works on new extensions for phase 2 of the de-escalation. The General Directorate of Mobility and Connectivity is progressively increasing the frequencies of public transport, adapting supply to demand, in accordance with the ministerial order that regulates mobility for the different phases of de-escalation.
