Inter books thanks to De Vrij narrow victory after late comeback against Parma | NOW

Internazionale won the match against Parma on Sunday in Serie A. Partly thanks to a goal from Stefan de Vrij, a 1-0 deficit was turned into a 1-2 victory in the final phase.

As a result, Inter remains firmly in third place with 61 points. The lead over Atalanta, which won 2-3 against Udinese earlier in the evening, remains four points. The title fight is between Juventus (69) and Lazio (65).

Internazionale lost expensive points against Sassuolo (3-3) on Wednesday and also seemed to be doing a disservice to Parma. In the Stadio Ennio Tardini it already became 1-0 after fifteen minutes of play after a nice individual action by the Ivorian Gervinho.

Inter only managed to repair this damage in the absolute final phase. De Vrij scored with a head from the corner in the 84th minute. Alessandro Bastoni even gave Inter the full loot three minutes later. Parma ended the game after a red card for Juraj Kucka with ten men.

Atalanta remains on CL course

Atalanta also did good business in the battle for a ticket for the Champions League. With Hans Hateboer in the starting line-up and Marten de Roon as a substitute, Udinese won 2-3.

Atalanta owed much of the victory to Luís Muriel. The Colombian lifted the score from 1-1 to 1-3 between the seventieth and eightieth minute. For the Dutch-tinted Udinese, where Bram Nuytinck, Hidde ter Avest and Marvin Zeegelaar came into action, there was no more than a connection goal from Kevin Lasagna.

With the victory, Atalanta remains firmly in fourth place in Serie A. The top four in Italy qualify for the Champions League.

The Milanese are seventh by the victory and are only six points behind number five Roma.
