I am the youngest child in a family of 4 siblings, everyone lives on their own and has older children, and I just got married a few years ago, my son is over 2 years old.
I live with my parents but the family is not very happy. My mother and wife were at odds so they argued every day. As a child and husband, I don’t know who to defend anymore, because they are all relatives.
Seeing that the situation was not good, my father decided to let my husband and I live separately. When my father wanted to give me a piece of land with two frontages, my brothers and sisters objected, everyone told me that the land on the inside had low value.
On the occasion of giving me the land, my eldest brother said that my father was old and did not know how long he would live, so it was best to divide the land between his children and grandchildren while he was still alive to avoid causing conflicts later. Seeing that my eldest brother’s opinion was reasonable, my father agreed to divide the land among his children and grandchildren.
Because I live with my parents and have the obligation to take care of my grandparents in the future, I will get 2 plots of land, and your children will get 1 plot. Everyone very much agreed with Dad’s idea of dividing the land among his grandchildren, because they all had houses.
Before dividing the land, my father did not want to give the wrong property to outsiders, so he asked to do a DNA test on the children to be sure.
The whole family agreed with my father’s plan, but for some reason my mother strongly objected. She said that if she did that, she wouldn’t trust her children, and if outsiders knew, they would laugh. My children and grandchildren are all filial people, I don’t want to lose any of them because of a piece of paper.

Dad said:
“This lady is strange, if you don’t object to the DNA test then that’s fine, why should she be surprised? Or maybe you have something to hide from me, so it’s even more important to make it clear.”
Dad suddenly changed direction, he took a few strands of his own hair and gave them to us and said he would do a grandfather – child – grandchild DNA test to be sure.
At this point, my whole family turned their eyes to our mother to probe, but she remained silent so we had to follow our father’s request.
The day I received the DNA test results, my family was really stressed. Only my two sisters were blood relatives of my father, and my eldest brother and I were not relatives of my father. The eldest brother asked his mother harshly:
“Who is our father, why did you betray him for the past 40 years, why?”.
Mother spoke in choked tears and admitted all the blame on herself. Mom said that day Dad was working far away, only coming back once every few months, and the neighbor next door often came over to help with difficult tasks. That man’s enthusiasm made my mother’s heart flutter and she accidentally gave herself to him. After saying that, my mother knelt down and apologized to my father and asked for forgiveness.
Mom said:
“That man has passed away. Now the children and grandchildren are all grown up and very filial. Please forgive me and consider your children and grandchildren as close relatives in the family. Don’t spurn anyone and feel guilty.”

Dad did not accept my mother’s blatant betrayal. He wanted to divorce my mother and divide the land only among my sister’s grandchildren, while my eldest brother and I did not get any land at all. My parents are both over 70 years old, and now if we take each other to court, my brother and I will no longer have the face to look at everyone.
My eldest brother and I don’t have any authority, so we don’t dare open our mouths to protest. Seeing her father’s excessive behavior, the second sister spoke up:
“If Dad divorces Mom, we will take her home to live with us, while he lives alone. We know what you did was not right, but the matter belongs to the past, please be generous and forgive me, look to the future and live.”
The third sister said that her father went away for decades without sending her mother a single penny, and maybe he was dating a few women. The mother stays at home to raise the children and work to make money. Mom worked so hard that she never dared to complain to anyone. Yet when mother made a mistake, father refused to forgive her. She blamed her father for being narrow-minded and selfish, thinking only of himself.
All four children stood up to protect their mother and hoped their father would be tolerant, but he still stubbornly demanded a divorce from his mother. My brothers and I really don’t know what to do anymore?
