Intel Core i5-12400 CPU specs and benchmark results appear – Computer – News

A leaker has published alleged details and benchmark results of an unannounced Intel Core i5-12400 desktop CPU on Chinese social media outlet Bilibili. The CPU has been tested in CPU-Z, Cinebench and the AIDA64 stress test, among others.

The Intel Core i5-12400 has six P-cores with hyperthreading, according to information from a Bilibili leaker which was noticed by Twitter user HXL. This Alder Lake model will not receive any energy-efficient E-cores. This is the case with higher positioned models, confirmed Intel earlier. The processor would also have 18MB L3 cache and a TDP of 65W. The boost clock would be 4.4GHz on a single core and 4.0GHz on all cores.

In the CPU-Z test, the Intel Core i5-12400 achieved a singlecore score of 681.7 and a multicore result of 4983.8. Wccftech notes that those scores are both higher than the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, which also features six cores and twelve threads. The multicore performance would also be 18 percent higher than the current Rocket Lake-generation Intel Core i5-11400.

This result also applies to Cinebench R20, where the Core i5-12400 achieves a singlecore score of 659 and a multicore result of 4784. Both scores are higher than Cinebench R20 results of the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X that Tweakers noted in the Ryzen 5000-review. The Bilibili user also tested the Core i5-12400 in AIDA64, where the leaker noted a power consumption of 78.5W and a CPU temperature of 60 degrees Celsius. The processor cooler used is unknown.

Intel is expected to release its first Alder Lake processors out on November 4. According to previous rumors, only overclockable CPUs with a K and KF suffix would appear on that date. This does not include the Core i5-12400. If the earlier rumors are correct, it is not known when this processor will appear on the market. It is also unknown what this CPU will cost, but the current Core i5-11400 is in the Pricewatch from € 199,-.
