The senior physician of the Integrated Psychiatry Winterthur – Zürcher Unterland (IPW), Urs Hepp, goes into business for himself. In the future, he will work as a psychiatric advisor for hospitals and other institutions as well as in the field of managed care and will also devote himself to teaching and research, according to a media release. Hepp is a psychiatrist and adjunct professor at the University of Zurich. Until his successor has been settled, he will continue to be available to the IPW.
In the four and a half years of his activity, Hepp has further developed psychiatric care, writes hospital director Hanspeter Conrad, who regrets Hepp’s departure, but also understands that he wants to try something new again. Under the medical direction of Hepp, the IPW was appointed the teaching hospital of the University of Zurich.
The IPW offers outpatient and inpatient treatment at a total of 14 locations and operates day clinics. With its principle of integrated care, the Winterthur model has been pioneering throughout Switzerland for 20 years. In this model, doctors, psychologists and nurses work closely together, and the transitions between the treatment settings are fluid.
