If you use Instagram, you may have enabled two-factor authentication to protect your account login. This method of verifying a connection by entering a security code commonly received by SMS or generated by a dedicated authentication application could soon evolve on Instagram.
Leaked Italian Alessandro Palazzi actually discovered that Instagram was working on the option to choose WhatsApp as the messaging app allowed to receive these well-known codes.
WhatsApp is available as web and desktop apps, and this new option eliminates the need for users who activate WhatsApp to obtain a login code using their smartphone. This new feature is currently under development and may soon be included in the Android and iOS versions of Instagram.
