Instagram is a social media platform owned by Facebook, founded by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger and originally launched on October 10, 2010 for IOS.
The Android version was released in April 2012, followed by a desktop version with limited features in June 2014.
The application allows users to share photos that can be edited with filters and organized with hashtags and geotagging. Posts can be shared publicly or with pre-approved followers. Facebook is unifying the DM service from Instagram and Facebook Messenger and with the latest update, the DM icon on Instagram is replaced with the Facebook Messenger logo. Some people have had a hard time receiving this update,
These are the different ways to solve this problem: –
Make sure your Instagram app is updated to the latest version.
If that doesn’t work, download the SuperVPN app from the play store, what VPN essentially does is change the device location for the app. This will help you as the update is released in select countries.
If the VPN solution also doesn’t work, you need to go into your phone’s settings app, go to the app’s admin settings, and choose ‘Instagram’. Force Stop the application, clear the cache and clear the application data. This will not delete any of your data, so don’t worry about that. Make sure all application permissions are granted as well.
If even after this your update does not appear, you can join the beta program from the Play Store.
If all these solutions don’t work for you, go to the Instagram help center and report this issue, they usually get back to your customers in less than 24 hours.
