Instagram against fake profiles
Instagram for many is not only the social network of the posture, also the place where you can believe much of what you see. Affirmations that, perhaps, you share or not, but what is important or problematic about this platform is not that but the false profiles.
As with other platforms, fake bots and accounts trying to trick you are a real problem for user experience within the network. This is why the company is determined to eliminate the largest number of fake accounts with inauthentic behavior. Instagram will study the behavior of a number of accounts in search of very clear patterns that indicate that they could be facing a profile controlled by a botnet or one that simply seeks to deceive other users. These patterns or indicators are actually already relatively easy to spot even for many of us. For example, profile names with a long succession of numbers in it, or patterns that repeat between multiple accounts. There is also the fact that an account has hundreds of followers in a country other than its origin, etc.
These indicators will be the ones that really help Instagram to receive a first alert of those profiles that could be false or have negative intentions for other users. That would be when they would act and request an identification document. These documents, as indicated in their official blog, could be several:

- Passport
- Personal insurance card
- Official identity document
- Visa or Visa
- Family Book
- Transport card
- Health insurance
There is a wide variety of documents that can be used to confirm the person which is behind the account as real. All these documents, as indicated on Instagram, will not be shared with others and thirty days after the authenticity of the account has been confirmed, they will be deleted. So its use would be temporary and only for this purpose.
In case of not being able to verify the account, Instagram could take action against it and reduce the distribution of your content and directly disable it. This last case will not occur on many occasions unless the matter is clear.
A necessary and committed decision at the same time
If you are a regular user of social networks, you will agree that this is a wise and necessary decision. Being able to eliminate all those thousands of bots that swarm through networks is always a success. Because some may be interested in growing their follower numbers through unethical techniques. But they are really helping the experience of using the platform to be tarnished.
Therefore, ending these accounts, something that has been done from time to time on almost all platforms, is a good idea. The problem will be to see to what extent the issue of verification through the use of official documentation ends up pleasing or not those who can unjustly request it.
