A member of the Polantas Polres Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Aipda PDH who asked for a sack of onions from the truck driver while carrying out a ticket, has now been detained.
The member was detained while undergoing the examination process by the Propam Division Polda Metro Jaya.
“Currently carrying out an examination and being detained for the purpose of the examination,” said Director of Traffic and Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo to reporters, Wednesday (11/3).
Sambodo also confirmed that he was no longer a member of the traffic police (polantas).
Aipda PDH, said Sambodo, has been transferred to a work unit that is not concerned with community services.
“The person concerned has been withdrawn to the Regional Police and has been transferred to a work unit that is not directly related to the community,” he said.
Sambodo said that there was no special motive behind Aipda PDH asking for a sack of onions from the truck driver. Sambodo said the action was a form of member delinquency in carrying out their duties.
“I said there was a member’s delinquency, so there was a violation committed by the member. So we took strict action,” said Sambodo.
There was a video circulating on social media showing a police officer ticketing a truck driver.
In the video, the truck driver claimed to be asked for a sack of onions by the police. He had tried to give Rp100 thousand in exchange for a ticket.
However, the driver said, the police refused and preferred to exchange it for a sack of onions for him.
