ING wrongly debited money from customers: ‘1000 euros just gone’

The bank confirms a message of De Telegraaf about this. ING wrote off costs for depositing or withdrawing cash. Some customers were charged multiples of those costs.

Normally it would be about 6 euros, but a victim says on the site allestoringen.nl that ‘just 1000 euros is gone’. Another wrote: “More than 450 euros has been wrongly debited from both me and my daughter, who is 5 years old. I think ING should provide compensation.”

bank says sorry

ING does not do the latter, but the bank finds the situation ‘very annoying’ and offers an apology. According to ING, a technical adjustment in their systems is the cause of the ghost debits

The bank says it has been working since Friday to refund the incorrect debits. All affected customers will receive their money back in the coming days. This must be arranged by Wednesday at the latest.
