App Store: Apple still can’t satisfy the Netherlands (other fines to be expected)

After a few weeks of respite, it seems that the Dutch regulator is still not satisfied with Apple’s behavior and the proposals made. So she would consider new financial penaltiesalthough this does not seem to have had the desired effect.

In a press release obtained and published by the journalist Nando Kasteleijnthe Consumers and Markets Authority (ACM) declared that the Californian company has not yet fully complied with Dutch and European regulations, without specifying which ones. She did, however, acknowledge that Cupertino no longer requires Dutch developers to submit separate binaries for dating apps using third-party payment methods.

It should be remembered that for several months, the latter has been sanctioned up to 5 million euros per week (a total having reached 50 million euros at the end of March). The firm had been challenged by the ACM for its anti-competitive behavior. It therefore had to modify certain rules of the App Store, and in particular introduce third-party payment methods for dating applications. However, his projects do not seem to find favor.

Previously, Cupertino said changes to its guidelines showed its commitment and willingness to fulfill its legal obligations in the Netherlands. She had, however, clarified that she did not really agree with the position of the ACM and that she was appealing its decision,
