Infrascreen wins the BCN Innovation 2020 Prize

The suspense ended on Wednesday evening: Infrascreen won the 2020 edition of the BCN Innovation Prize. The Neuchâtel start-up won 150,000 francs, which was handed out Wednesday evening at the premises of the Cantonal Bank in Neuchâtel.

Infrascreen aims to improve the economic and energy performance of greenhouses, by relying on nanotechnologies, from CSEM in Neuchâtel. It aims to reduce their CO2 emissions by 40%. This new technology reduces greenhouse operating costs by around 16%. “At a time when our societies are positioning themselves on our climate impact and the way we want to feed ourselves, Infrascreen offers a solution to save CO2 from heating greenhouse vegetables and makes it possible to go even more in the direction of production local ”, underlined the professor at EPFL and president of the jury of the BCN Innovation Prize Yves Perriard.

Due to the health crisis, the award ceremony took place in a new form on Wednesday. It was live on RTN:

Since 2008, the BCN Innovation Prize has been awarded to SMEs and start-ups in the canton who have a development project in progress. This year, three companies were among the finalists. / comm-aju-jhi
