Information Afternoon for Lung Disease: Importance of Healthy Food and Training

HAREN – On October 17, 2023, the Lungfonds is organizing an information afternoon for people with lung disease, their loved ones and healthcare providers and hopes to welcome you.

We would like to invite you to a lung point afternoon packed with information on the theme ‘Healthy food is an important basis for everyone’. If you suffer from lung disease, certain nutrients are extra important, such as proteins. Proteins are the building and repair substances for your body. Healthy nutrition is important for recovery from your training, but also in the event of a lung attack. Sports and exercise are essential for strong lungs and improve the quality of life. During this afternoon, Jacco Mulder, dietitian/personal training and Leanda Brinkman dietitian pulmonary rehabilitation UMCG/Beatrixoord would like to take you into the world of healthy nutrition and the importance of training in lung diseases.

The Longpunt will take place on October 17 at the location ”Beatrixoord” 4th floor Room 4.38, Dilgtweg 5 in Haren from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Due to catering, it would be nice if you let us know if you will be there. This may be sent to: [email protected]
You are very welcome, coffee and tea are ready!

Anyone who has a lung disease will of course receive the necessary information and guidance from their GP or hospital. But dealing with a (often) chronic illness involves more. What about taking medication? How do you organize your life as best as possible? What tools and agencies are there? And what can the environment do for you?

Experiences
The Lung Point provides an answer to all these questions. An initiative of the Lungfonds in collaboration with healthcare providers in the region. Several afternoons a year there are theme afternoons during which patients and their partners and healthcare providers receive current information and practical tips. Various pulmonologists, physiotherapists, psychologists and social workers, among others, will give lectures. But the Long Point is perhaps most valuable as the place to exchange experiences, gain tips and share concerns.

Free participation
Everyone can participate in the Longpunt for free. See also www.groningen.longfonds.nl. Visitors are requested not to use perfume or other scents, as many lung patients suffer from this.

Pulmonary fund
In the Netherlands there are one million people with a chronic lung disease, such as asthma, COPD or a rare lung disease. The Lung Fund is committed to helping everyone with a chronic lung disease and everyone with healthy lungs.
