Inform about support for digitization and promotion of international competitiveness :: Dienas Bizness

The Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA) invites entrepreneurs to register for the online seminar on the International Competitiveness Promotion (ICS) program, which will take place on August 21, 2020 at 11.00 on the “Zoom” platform.

The SEA program offers Latvian companies the opportunity to obtain additional funding for market research, participation in exhibitions, marketing events in foreign markets, as well as various other activities.

A total of € 22.4 million is available under this program.

“In recent months, the situation in the Latvian economy has started to improve. This is especially well reflected in the total export data, as in June of this year the volume of exports has decreased by only 1.4% compared to June 2019, but the six-month export volume has decreased by 3.7%. This shows that entrepreneurs in many sectors have overcome the most difficult period and want to restore or increase their exports.

In the SKV program, companies can attract up to 20 thousand euros for marketing and other activities, promoting the sale of their products or services in foreign markets, “says LIAA director Kaspars Rožkalns.

The new support program is planned to provide a wide range of support tools that will help Latvian companies to successfully return to export markets in the shortest possible time. The SKV support program will ensure in-depth planning and implementation of export activities. For example, if a company applies for support for individual activities, they will be assessed in the context of the overall export strategy, looking for the most effective solutions.

In the SEA program, companies in the field of marketing and export promotion have the opportunity to apply for support in the amount of 20 thousand euros in one calendar year and the amount of the grant will be able to reach 50% of the total eligible costs. Companies will be able to use these funds to participate in exhibitions, conferences and contact exchanges, to adapt products or services to foreign markets, product certification, digitization of sales channels and other activities.
