These are scary times for the European economy. Inflation is at record highs and a recession is just around the corner due to the war in Ukraine. It’s called “Stagflation” with an ugly word. So it’s an economic crisis. The European Central Bank is meeting to see if anything can be done about it. “They can’t do much there at the moment,” says economist Gert Peersman (UGent). “We have to wait and see.”
