Infection numbers in Salzburg “highly irritating”

The numbers remain particularly high in Salzburg, which is also due to B.1.1.7. Physician Richard Greil assumes that “community spreading” is already taking place.

The number of new infections is not going down. Hardly any movement even with the seven-day incidence. And with the most recent incidence of 199.5, Salzburg is more severely affected than the other federal states; across Austria, the number was recently 120 new infections per 100,000 residents in seven days. Why is Salzburg so affected – and why are the numbers falling more slowly there than elsewhere? Several factors play a role here.
