Early on Wednesday morning at around 2.45 a.m., the Uri cantonal police received a report about a fire in Erstfeld UR in the Brämerhofstatt area. When the rescue workers arrived, the industrial hall was already on fire.

Several people from surrounding houses were evacuated. So far, there are no reports of injured people, as the Uri Cantonal Police wrote in a message.

SBB route is released
The fire could be brought under control. Post-erasure work is still ongoing in the morning.

The affected building is in the immediate vicinity of the SBB railway embankment. However, the SBB route is released.
