Indonesian volleyball team started his first fight in the event SEA V League 2023 with absolute victory. Farhan Halim et al conquered the Philippines with a score of 3-0.
Competing at GOR Candradimuka Padepokan Volleyball General Police Kunarto, Sentul, Bogor, Friday (21/7/2023), the team supported by LavAni has always led in scoring since the first set.
Even though the Philippines caught up in the second set, Farhan Halim et al. complete three sets with a win. Score ended 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-19) victory for Indonesia.
The coach of the Indonesian Volleyball National Team, Jeff Jiang, welcomed the good results his players had obtained. The tactician from China said the victory against the Philippines was an important capital for wading through the tournament between countries in Southeast Asia.
“We made the match against the Philippines a warm-up event before facing the next tough opponents such as Vietnam and Thailand. The players have shown their best game and I hope this slick trend will continue,” said Jeff in his statement after the team’s match.

In line with Jeff Jiang, the captain of the Indonesian Men’s Volleyball National Team, Dio Zulfikri, is happy to have won his first win in the opening game. Even though he wasn’t 100 percent after suffering an injury at the 2023 AVC Challenge Cup, the setter who was born on December 15, 1996 still gave his best game.
“Grateful to be able to win in today’s match. We still have a lot of mistakes in this match. We hope these mistakes can be resolved before the game against Vietnam later,” added Dio.
The victory that the Indonesian national team got was the same as that produced by Thailand. The White Elephant National Team also won over Vietnam with a score of 3-0 (25-23, 28-26, 25-21) in the opening game.
This victory was welcomed positively by the Thai coach, Park Ki Won. The coach from South Korea revealed that in this match his team made a perfect start.
“We started the match with high confidence. That is very important for us to go through this tournament. In the future we will try to fix some small mistakes like receiving,” he said.
In line with Park, team captain Kissada Nilsawai believes that his team only needs to fix a few details. It is hoped that the evaluation in the first match can increase the confidence of the players for the next match.
“We have to further develop an attacking strategy in the future. Not only that, communication between players on the field must be paid more attention to be more compact with each other,” added the player who was born on April 17, 1992.
After the match on the first day, Indonesia and Thailand temporarily lead the SEA V League 2023 standings with a perfect score.
This Southeast Asian volleyball tournament was attended by Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. The first round took place in Sentul, Bogor, until July 23. While the second round will take place in the Philippines, Santa Rosa to be precise, July 28-30. Then continue in Vietnam on August 4-6, and in Thailand on August 11-13.
