Midfield roster Indonesian National team looks more promising in matters of scoring goals than the striker line.

This is a worrying thing when Indonesia faces Turkmenistan in a FIFA Matchday trial match on Friday (8/9). But the strength of the midfield provides calm.

Currently, there are only two names left for Indonesia’s front line, after Dimas Drajad was injured. Only Aji Kusuma and Dendy Sulistyawan remained. But neither of them have scored a goal in Liga 1.

On the other hand, the midfield of the Garuda squad is filled with quite gacor players. Of the nine players called up, the total goals scored by the players were 21 goals.

Saddil Ramdani became the most fertile player. The Sabah FC winger has collected six goals. It’s just that Saddil is less sharp in the national team. His goal score with the national team is only one.

Next is Stefano Lilipaly who defended Borneo FC this season. This player who plays as a winger or playmaker has scored five goals in the 2023/2024 League 1.

Then there is Persib midfielder Marc Klok. This 30-year-old player has collected four goals. Then there is Egy Maulana Vikri who defended Dewa United with a collection of two goals.

The rest, namely Ricky Kambuaya, Rachmat Irianto, Adam Alis and Ryan Kurnia both scored one goal. The only midfielder who scored zero was Dony Tri Pamungkas.

Of these nine midfielders, Egy and Kambuaya became the most fertile players for the Indonesian National Team under Shin Tae Yong, after Witan Sulaeman who is currently defending Indonesia U-23.

Egy and Kambuaya have both contributed five goals for the Indonesian national team since 2021. Meanwhile, Klok has scored four goals for the Red and White, while Irianto has scored three.

Because of this, it is believed that these midfielders will again become a key factor for the Indonesian National Team. Lilipaly believed to be plotted by Shin as the spearhead.
