“Indonesian Athletes Compete in 2023 Thailand Open Badminton Qualifiers”

Tournament badminton Thailand Open 2023 starting today, Tuesday (30/5). There were a number of Indonesian athletes who appeared on the opening day of the Super 500 level championship.

After competing in the Malaysia Masters event last week, world badminton players will compete at the Huamark Indoor Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand.

The 2023 Thailand Open, which has a total prize pool of US$420 thousand, will be opened with qualifying matches from various sectors.

There were five Indonesian representatives who participated today, consisting of one men’s doubles representative, one women’s doubles representative and three mixed doubles pairs.

Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani will meet Canadian doubles Kevin Lee/Ty Alexander Lindeman in the first session of the men’s doubles qualification.

Meanwhile, Meilysa Trias Puspitasari/Rachel Allessya Rose will face the American duet Srivedya Gurazada/Ishika Jaiswal.

In the mixed doubles sector, there will be Jafar Hidayatullah/Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata who will meet Chiu Hisang Chieh/Lin Xiao Min from Taiwan. Apart from that, there was also Amri Syahnawi/Winny Oktavina Kandow who dueled against the Danish doubles Mikkel Mikkelsen/Rikke Soby.

If Jafar/Aisyah and Amri/Winny win in the first qualifying round, then the two of them will face each other in the next phase fighting for tickets to the main round.

Adnan Maulana/Nita Violina Marwah who are the first seeds in the mixed doubles qualification will face Hoo Pang Ron/Teoh Mei Xing from Malaysia.

After playing matches in the first qualifying round, Indonesia’s men’s doubles and mixed doubles must face a second match which will be held today to ensure steps to the finals.

As for the women’s doubles, just a win is enough for Rachel/Meilyssa to advance to the main draw.
