Kuwait became the first opponent of the Indonesian national team in this group phase. The Red and White Team played this match after the disappointing test results against Bangladesh which ended goalless at the Si Starling Harupat Stadium, Bandung, last June 1.

Shin Tae Yong is confident in looking at this match even though he has just achieved sub-optimal results in the test match. The South Korean coach is determined to show the real strength of the Indonesian national team in the 2023 Asian Cup Qualifiers.
“We will show our strength and presence in this qualifier,” Shin Tae Yong said at a press conference quoted on the Kuwait Football Federation’s Twitter account.
Meanwhile, Kuwait coach Vitezslav Lavicka is reluctant to underestimate the Indonesian national team. He assessed that the young Indonesian national team squad has the potential to make Kuwait difficult.
“We have a big challenge in front of us and we are ready to face this tough challenge, and all the players are ready to compete,” Lavicka was quoted as saying on the Kuwait Football Federation’s official Twitter post.
