“Indiana Jones 5” is late due to Corona cinema

Harrison Ford’s last appearance as a whip-swinging archaeologist is still a bit behind the scenes.

More and more films and series are being postponed due to the global corona pandemic – recently it even hit the latest “James Bond” strip. Now Disney has postponed the return of a screen legend: “Indiana Jones 5” starring Harrison Ford (also known as Han Solo from “Star Wars”) is postponed by a year.

The film was originally scheduled to be released on July 9, 2021, but fans will have to wait until July 29, 2022.

Spielberg is away from the window

This change follows reports of a major change for the franchise. Cult director Steven Spielberg, who was responsible for all four films already released, retired from his post. James Mangold took his place, making a name for himself with the Wolverine film “Logan”.

The last film of the robust adventurer was released in 2008. “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, however, angered fans with a plot about aliens and flying saucers. From Harrison Ford’s farewell to his legendary role, they expect a return to old virtues.
